Simple Card Model Galleon

Here's a very simple card model galleon kit loosely based on a seventeenth century galleon. It's quick and easy to construct allowing a significant fleet to be created for war-gaming or just for play.

One large and two small card galleon models

This kit allows the builder to chose between two model sizes. The larger model requires one sheet of A4white card (160gsm) for each model galleon built. Alternatively, the smaller version allows two models to be constructed from the same single sheet of card.

Once the required models are constructed you can create your own flags for the masts – according to who the protagonists in your war-game are going to be. How about Dutch versus English? Of course, in the mid seventeenth century the English tended to loose a lot to the indomitable Dutch. Had the English known what the future was to hold they would certainly have been crying out “hurry up Nelson!”
